My Approach

My collaborative, resolution-based approach minimizes costs, time and headaches. My goal is to settle cases efficiently and fairly whenever possible in order to preserve relationships.

You Know Your Family Best

It is usually better to stay out of court. Here’s why:

  • It can be expensive and time consuming.

  • It can cause unnecessary conflict.

  • You forfeit control over the decision-making process to a judge.

  • Relationships can suffer.

No two families are the same: an arrangement that’s right for one may be wrong for the next. Each case needs an individual approach, and I empower my clients to make decisions that feel right for them, keeping things as simple as possible despite any complexities.

While court can ultimately be the right choice, we will first try to come to a peaceful resolution through collaborative practice, traditional negotiation or mediation.

Working with Opposing Counsel

Knowing how to negotiate and collaborate with opposing counsel is a crucial skill that can make or break an outcome. Even if we aim to keep your case out of court, a fair, efficient agreement requires respectful communication between lawyers.

I get down to business. For example, rather than sending letters back and forth, I’ll pick up the phone and call the other counsel to avoid parallel arguments and keep matters from escalating, because there is no point in having parallel arguments.

Let’s resolve your case the right way.
